FAQ
Is this allowed on Bovada?
Bovada's terms have their own rules about third-party software at their tables, and only Bovada can say what they enforce. Read the terms and make your own decision; we cannot promise anything on their behalf, and WebPokerHud is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bovada.
What we can say precisely about what the extension does:
- It reads the game events your own client already receives. It never sends anything to the site.
- It never acts for you — no clicks, no bets, no timing.
- It never sees hidden information. Opponents' cards appear only when the site reveals them (showdown, all-in).
- Stats on opponents are session-only, because Bovada tables are anonymous. Session tools of this kind have been openly used on the network for years.
Does it see other players' hole cards?
No. Only cards the site itself shows — at showdown or on an all-in.
Does it automate anything?
No. It displays information and records hands. It cannot click, bet, fold, or time anything.
Where is my data?
In your browser (IndexedDB), on your machine. Nothing is uploaded unless you open the Analysis Panel, which sends your hands to our server to compute the views, in memory, without storing them. No telemetry, no analytics inside the extension. Full policy: /privacy.
Your hands are exportable at any time as JSON Lines in a documented format, or as PokerStars-format text for PokerTracker, Hand2Note and Holdem Manager.
Why isn't it on the Chrome Web Store?
Chrome's store rejected it under its gambling-content policy, which covers single-purpose tools that run on gambling sites. Firefox has no such rule and reviewed the source. Chrome still works by manual install of the release zip.
Which tables are supported?
Bovada No-Limit Hold'em cash games, 6-max, multi-tabling included. 9-max hands are recorded and exported fine; the on-table overlay is tuned for 6-max and is being finished for 9-max. Zone (fast-fold) and tournaments are not captured yet.
Is Ignition supported?
Not yet. Ignition uses the same client, so it is next on the roadmap. It needs one extra site permission, which means a new add-on review, so it ships as its own release.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Yes. It is a Firefox extension, so it runs wherever desktop Firefox runs.
What does Pro add, and why is it crypto-only?
Everything on the table and in the popup is free with no account: the HUD, hand tracking, the graph, replays, export, import and the converter. Pro adds the deeper server-side reports in the Analysis Panel: position stats, the starting-hand matrix, sessions and trends. It is prepaid time ($2.99 for 30 days, $29.99 for a year), with no auto-renewal; the extension shows when it ends.
Card processors refuse anything gambling-adjacent, so Pro is paid in crypto through a hosted invoice. If you never pay, nothing breaks and nothing is withheld except those reports.
The HUD says "capture stalled". What now?
The table stopped sending events to the extension — usually the site's connection dropped and reconnected in a way the extension cannot follow. Reload the table tab; capture resumes on the next hand. The toolbar icon shows a "!" badge on the affected tab, and the popup shows when the last hand was captured.
How do I report a bug or ask for something?
GitHub Issues is the one support channel. The bug template says what to include; a screenshot of the table with the HUD on it helps most.
